Tomboy | Jacket Sewing Pattern
Product detailed description
A variation on the classic denim jacket that you can play with and wear for many seasons.
"The Tomboy jacket pattern is classic and minimalist, it doesn't try to be anything special. It resembles a classic men's denim jacket, in lightweight fabric, even a shirt. In its basic pattern, it has a slightly tapered torso and, conversely, widened sleeves. It gives off a slightly boyish impression and can be a bold companion for chilly evenings. However, due to the more economical torso in the given sizes, it doesn't appear too oversized. There's always the option to create an XL jacket for a size S and have it as an oversized piece. As with any pattern, the choice of fabric is crucial. The jacket can handle stiffer fabrics like denim, corduroy, canvas, or even layered materials. Combined with metal shank buttons, it gains a proven form. Thanks to denim, you can work with frayed edges or just go for a punk-style crop.
In the opposite position, with lighter-weight fabrics like linen, jacquard, brocade, or tweed, you'll create a formal accessory, more of a coat with a more formal character. The snap buttons can be replaced with regular ones. The jacket also has a broadly cut neckline, which, in the right combination with the outfit, appears quite elegant, but not overly striking." - Barbora Procházková
