Edelweiss print in purply blue tones is new addition to the KOKKA collection of japanese designer Naomi Ito. Beautoful tiny flowers are spread out in oval shapes in repetitive pattern, where one section covers 61,5 cm of lenght.
FABRIC CHARACTER:
Breathable lightweight fabric suitable for clothing. Double gauze is created by placing two layers of gauze on top of each other. Why two layers of gauze? Standard gauze is typically loosely woven, making it too lightweight and breathable. So in Japan, they came up with the idea that when two layers of gauze are placed on top of each other, the fabric remains lightweight and breathable, and it is no longer transparent. Another bonus is that the double layer creates a typical softness.
WHAT TO SEW:
It suits tops, skirts, and dresses. A more pronounced design allows for a minimalist cut, where the material stands out in all its glory. If you're sewing something more classic (e.g., a dress with a shirt collar or a sheath dress), keep in mind that the fabric tends to fray more, so reinforcing stressed seams is recommended.
